What was meant to be a half-century birthday celebration for music promoter and club manager El Zozolex (born Zayne Mweneziko) has evolved into a citywide musical tribute, bringing together top DJs.

This Saturday, Bulawayo will witness an electrifying lineup at a spot in the city, including DJ Sweeto, DJ Phat Joe, DJ Tawaz, DJ Timeless, and many more, as they spin the decks to honour a man whose influence on the city’s party scene is unmatched.

El Zozolex has long been a driving force behind Bulawayo’s nightlife. He has managed several top leisure spots in the city, where he has created unforgettable experiences and buzzed up countless events. A socialite since the early 2000s, he played a key role in bringing artistes like Nash Zim, Jah Signal, and international DJs to Bulawayo’s parties, shaping the city’s musical landscape.

“This gathering of DJs isn’t just about my birthday,” Zozolex said.

“It’s a celebration of the music, the energy, and everyone who has made Bulawayo’s nightlife what it is today.”
