SUSPICION of a presence of gold deposits has cost a Domboshava man his homestead as he has been kicked out.

Itai Garwi, who has lived at his homestead for nine years, was forcibly relocated by a local figure seeking control over the area believed to be rich in gold. The destruction of Itai’s home has left him and his family exposed to the elements, with the rains pouring in as they grapple with their sudden displacement. Itai, who was officially registered by the kraal head when he moved in, expressed his deep frustration and sense of betrayal.

“I feel duped by the village head,” Itai lamented.  Everyone knows the cruelty I’ve faced from the village head.

“His brother is the one who recorded my name in the kraal book nine years ago, only for me to be forced out of my homestead because of mere speculation about gold deposits.”

Itai has since lodged a complaint with the police, seeking justice for himself and his family.

Mashonaland provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Simon Chazovachii was not immediately available for comment. However, the case has been officially recorded at Chinhamora Police Station under RRB 6579071.
