LOCAL content creator Thando Nkiwane, popularly known as Dramatic Miss, has scored one of her biggest social media moments after a skit paying tribute to late American country music legend Dolly Parton garnered more than one million views in less than 24 hours.
Nkiwane’s video, inspired by the outpouring of grief and loyalty from Parton’s global fan base, struck a chord with audiences through its blend of humour, creativity and heartfelt admiration for the late music icon.
Parton’s death on August 25 sparked an outpouring of tributes across social media, with content creators and fans from around the world finding creative ways to celebrate her life and legacy.
Among them was Nkiwane, who used her signature comedic style to portray an ardent Parton supporter preparing to travel to America from Zimbabwe to mourn the country music legend. In the Facebook skit titled “African attending Dolly Parton’s funeral”, Nkiwane’s character is surrounded by suitcases, ready to make the journey to join other devoted Parton fans, creating a humorous take on the lengths to which loyal admirers would go to honour their idol.
