DRIVERS DIE IN BUS AND TRUCK SMASH: Police warn rogue motorists

A DEADLY smash on the Harare–Masvingo Road has left two drivers dead as the Zimbabwe Republic Police urges the public to report reckless motorists before more lives are lost.

National police spokesperson Paul Nyathi confirmed the fatal accident that occurred on 28 February 2026 at the 87 km peg. A Bless It Up bus carrying 32 passengers towards Harare collided with a Heyman Kole truck heading to Masvingo.

Both drivers succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Several passengers were injured and rushed to Chivhu General Hospital for treatment.

Police say more details will be released in due course. Meanwhile, police are appealing to road users to report errant and reckless drivers immediately so swift action can be taken.
