DYNAMOS host MWOS at Rufaro Stadium today in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League encounter that comes with significant implications for both sides. The Glamour Boys remain unbeaten after four matches, having collected eight points — the same tally as Scottland, Ngezi Platinum and Simba Bhora.
A total of six teams are yet to taste defeat heading into round five, with MWOS among them. The Norton-based side sit ninth on the table with six points.
The fixture carries added intrigue with MWOS under the guidance of Lloyd Mutasa, a former Dynamos player and coach who knows the hosts intimately. Victory for MWOS would see them leapfrog Dynamos on the standings, while a home win would allow DeMbare to keep pace with leaders CAPS United.
In the build-up to the match, Dynamos have been in the spotlight for reasons off the pitch rather than their football.
Four executive committee members — David Chikomo, Bartson Nkomo, Justice Mubayi and Spencer Chihota — have resigned, leaving chairman Vincent Chawonza, chief executive officer Desmond Bvute and secretary general Devine Sena as the remaining officials.
The departures coincided with the club’s announcement of a new partnership with Africa Bet and ContiPay. However, Chawonza insists the club is now on stable footing and formally confirmed the Africa Bet and ContiPay agreement.

Chawonza recently drew attention after fans unfurled a banner bearing his image and branding him “the heart and soul of Dynamos”. He now says there is plenty in the pipeline for the club, with a clear focus on turning Rufaro blue this afternoon.
“As a token of appreciation, 100 tickets will be given to our loyal fans and supporters to attend our upcoming home clash against MWOS. On matchday, we will raise the blue tide together, with 10 000 flags handed out to fans coming to the stadium. Let’s paint Rufaro blue,” he said.
Addressing the banner, Chawonza was quick to shift the praise back to the supporters, describing them as the club’s true heartbeat.
“But this is not enough without you,” he said. “We need you, the heart and soul of Dynamos Football Club, to come in your numbers and fill the stands, to sing, to cheer, and to push our team to victory. Your voice, your energy, your presence, that is what makes Dynamos unstoppable.

Chawonza also revealed that transport arrangements have been made for supporters through club chapters ahead of Dynamos’ next away fixture against Simba Bhora.
“Last but not least, I have arranged buses and transport for supporters to Shamva on Sunday, for our significant match against Simba Bhora, just as we did for the match against AGAMA FC.
