Christmas has come early this year for DStv subscribers, with a double bonus already on offer: A three-day open window weekend that gives all subscribers across all packages free access to the full range of DStv Premium programming, as well as a two month-long major price reduction in decoder prices.
Gerald Ngonyamo, head of corporate affairs and public relations of MultiChoice Zimbabwe, a Canal+ company, said: “The campaign called All I Want This Festive Season is DStv aims to spread the festive cheer, bringing customers an early start to the celebratory mood this year end.”
“The decoder price drop and the open window are exciting offers that we hope customers enjoy, alone or with family, in the build-up to this festive season.”
From 12.01am on Friday November 7 to 11.59pm on Sunday November 9, all active DStv subscribers will receive full access to every channel on the flagship DStv Premium package. Streaming-only customers will not have access to this promotion.
The weekend line-up features a wide array of programmes, including a packed sporting lineup on SuperSport, including the South Africa-France rugby match at 10.10pm on SuperSport Rugby channel on Saturday night, Manchester City playing Liverpool on Sunday afternoon and Formula 1’s Brazilian Grand Prix on Sunday night.
Also on offer is the latest season of Emmy-winning reality series Survivor USA at 5.30pm on Saturday on M-Net 102, the animated biopic about 13-time Grammy winner Pharrel Williams, called Piece By Piece (4.30pm on Saturday on M-Net) and reality series Short and Sweet (4pm on Saturday on Mzansi Magic), as well as Date My Family (6pm on Sunday on Mzansi Magic).
The 20th anniversary special of America’s Got Talent – a celebration of two decades of extraordinary talent and unforgettable moments – will air at 7pm on Saturday on M-Net, while the highly anticipated first episode of NCIS: Tony and Ziya will screen at 5pm on Sunday on M-Net). Drop, a twisty thriller about the worst date ever, starring Meghann Fahy and Brandon Sklenar, is the 8pm Sunday night film on M-Net.
“Checking out the programme guides online will give a full overview of what’s on, but there’s something for everyone in the family through the weekend,” said Ngonyamo.
“Customers have three days to access a wide range of world-class information, education and entertainment from local, regional and international broadcasters, and we just know they’re going to really enjoy this because they get to see for themselves how absolutely world-class the Premium bouquet is and we get to reward them for their loyalty and support with just one word: enjoy.”
Also on offer through the whole of November and December is a special price offer for decoders, with HD decoders reduced from US$35 to US$30 and Explora decoders down to US$130 from US$150.
These are at all MultiChoice Zimbabwe branches: Joina City in the Harare CBD and PaSangano in Avondale, as well as in Bulawayo and Mutare and through accredited sales channel partners countrywide.
“This helps provide easier access to state-of-the-art equipment in the run-up to the festive season, a time when families really enjoy the world of entertainment on DStv,” said Ngonyamo.
