Barely two months after successfully hosting Grateful concert in Birmingham, United Kingdom, award-winning gospel singer Eleana Makombe has announced a new location for her next tour.
She said the Grateful Concert will be held in Gaborone, Botswana this August and will feature Grateful family supported by some of the Tswana top gospel acts.
The lineup includes, Minister Micheal Mahendere, Ellard and Sharon Cherayi , Blessing Jedthun and Takesure Zamar − all of Grateful family as they share the stage with gospel diva Eleana.
Botswana stars will have Shinkie Mochawacha and Tlotlo Lentswe among others.
South Africa is represented by singer Omega Khunou with others to be announced soon.
The gospel feast will be held on August 2 at the International Convention Centre, (ICC), coincidentally in the UK, it was also held at the famous ICC in Birmingham.
In an interview with the gospel singer Eleana, she said preparations are at an advanced stage with the Grateful project team already visiting Botswana and had a series of meetings on planning.
“I am excited about the Botswana show, something I can say, This is God. It will be my first time performing in Botswana, and already the mood and tempo in that country are amazing,” she said.
“Preparations are at an advanced stage, and my project team visited Botswana and concluded everything. I am happy that the artistes have confirmed and the Grateful family is already geared.
Eleana said the tour will continue to the United States before concluding in Zimbabwe.
“Next stop is in the United States and we have also started the preparations, however for now our main focus is on Botswana, which is close by.”
“I will be jetting in the country soon to have rehearsals with the Grateful family. They have rested after a successful concert in Birmingham, which shocked many as we had about 3 000 people in attendance from all walks of life,” she said.
She said it is her dream to host Grateful in various countries.
“We have been having inquiries on which country we are coming next, but for this year we have already booked and planned. Next year we will try to fulfil fans’ desire,” said Eleana.
The gospel singer said this year had been grateful apart from a busy schedule, she managed to release her visuals which she did with various artistes.
“I try to balance, music, work and being a mom to my lovely children Alisha and Jason, I find time for them. Also, I am wife to John and he also needs his time with me,” she jokingly said.
“Music has been my calling and passion since high school, and I am happy I am living it. This year so far has been great, besides being busy, we managed to drop our singles featuring various artistes and to me I am grateful for that.”
