LEROY Manunure, whose stage name is ELLBEE, is about to drop his debut album.

ELLBEE is a 25-year-old musician, graphics designer and actor who grew up in Barbourfields, Bulawayo.

He won an award at the Bulawayo Models Awards Show as the Best Music Performing Artist last year.

He is known for a distinctive sound that blends Afro beats, Hip-hop and Amapiano elements. In an interview, ELLBEE announced that he is working on dropping his first album. ‘‘I’m currently working on my debut album which consists of all the songs I’ve been advertising.

“Everything is ready. I’m only doing a few touch-ups.

‘‘Music was always a big part of my life. I grew up listening to old school hits from groups like Westlife.

“I started creating music at the age of 12, experimenting with local instruments and writing my own lyrics.

“As I grew older, my passion for music only grew stronger and I decided to pursue it professionally,’’ said ELLBEE.

He added: “The community’s energy and resilience inspired me to create music that reflects the experiences and struggles of the people around me.

“My music is influenced by the rich cultural heritage of Zimbabwe, as well as the challenges and triumphs of everyday life.”

He said he is yet to name his album and the released date.

‘‘I am still trying to find a fitting name for the album.

“However, it explores themes of identity, culture, and social justice while also celebrating the beauty and diversity of Zimbabwean music. The album features a blend of traditional and modern sounds, with lyrics that reflect my personal experiences.”

He added: ‘‘I’m excited to collaborate with some talented artists and producers on this album, including Emani Langa.

‘‘We’re working together to create an album that’s both authentic and innovative, while staying true to my artistic vision.”
