‘ESTATE BLUES’ PRODUCER MOURNS DEATH OF HIS FATHER

AWARD-WINNING Zimbabwean actor, producer and filmmaker Admire Maramba is mourning the death of his father, Kephas Maramba, who died on Tuesday morning, at the age of 71.

He was battling prostate cancer.

Kephas died at Kwekwe General Hospital.

“It’s sad to lose a parent but it’s something we have to accept when it comes,” said Maramba, the creative force behind the television drama ‘Estate Blues’.

“My father suffered severe pain, especially in his last days. He has fought his fight, and we celebrate his life.

“We are grateful for the time we had with him and although his suffering has ended, his legacy lives on through our family.

“He was a pillar of strength for our family and we will carry forward the values he instilled in us.”

Admire is best known as the creator and producer of the acclaimed soap opera ‘Estate Blues,’ which premiered on ZBC TV on December 5, 2005.

The show ran for an impressive 25 seasons.

It not only entertained audiences but also addressed pertinent social issues, contributing significantly to national discourse and cultural identity.

Maramba’s work on the series earned critical acclaim.
