EX PSL STARS DENIED BAIL IN US$750k DRUG TRAFFICKING CASE

H-Metro Reporter

FORMER PSL players Reuben Mhlanga and Abbas Amidu have been denied bail after appearing in court in Kwekwe on Tuesday on drug trafficking charges.

The duo was arrested last week in Kwekwe after police were tipped off that a substantial amount of drugs were being trafficked.

They are accused of allegedly being the masterminds responsible for the trafficking of dagga worth US$750,000, which was seized by police last week.

Meanwhile, a hospital stay took a dramatic turn for Taona Dzimbo (40), who was arrested at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital on October 5 for stealing copper pipes.

Dzimbo, admitted with a fractured leg, was caught vandalising examination lights and attempting to remove copper components. Police recovered 45 pieces of copper pipe, each 20 centimetres long, along with an aluminium pipe from his hospital locker.

He is currently under police guard at the hospital as investigations continue.

  1. What is FUZ’s comment about its members caught in such an act? And we must understand that drugs are heavily consumed by current football players and school going children. It’s no secret. The use of drugs in football is so rife in this country, FUZ must do something about it.
