SOUTH Africa-based gospel star, Misheck Mahendere, has said that his family will always come first in whatever he does.
The multi-instrumentalist, who works as a preacher and music producer in South Africa, spoke to Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub on the sidelines of the July Worship Music Festival held at Glamis Stadium in Harare.
“I regularly visit home despite the fact that I stay in South Africa most of the time,” he told Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub.
“I just love my job and what I am doing.
“I always support family gatherings because family comes first. I came specifically for this event.”
Misheck, who was also part of the Mighty Mahendere Brothers, assured fans that there were major surprises coming from the siblings.
“There is more coming this time around from us (the Mahendere siblings), and we will only reveal it when we are ready.
“As brothers, we are always in touch and we plan our things together.
“I’m happy to be here in Harare attending this event, which means a lot to us. We will continue doing our best as a family.”
He also said gospel music will never die.
“Gospel is here to stay for years to come. It is a ministry that will continue touching many lives for ages.
“In our case, we are only playing our part, and we will certainly pass the baton on to others.”
Misheck praised corporate organisations for supporting the genre.
“If you look closely, you will realise that we have big organisations that came to support this event.
“It is a clear sign that they respect our vision. This kind of support is all that we need.”
