AFRO-DANCEHALL singer Chillmaster has once again captured the attention of music lovers with the release of his latest single, ‘Fighting for Love’.

Instead of debating the song’s message or production, many fans have been left talking about one thing — its length. The track, which forms part of the artist’s upcoming Nhova album, has quickly gained traction across digital streaming platforms and social media, with listeners praising its catchy melody and heartfelt lyrics.

However, many believe the song ends just as they are settling into it, leaving them wishing it had an additional verse or a longer outro.

Fans have flooded comment sections with reactions, saying the song is one of Chillmaster’s strongest recent releases but simply too short to satisfy listeners. One fan, Tinashe Moyo, said the song deserved to be at least another minute longer.

“This is one of the sweetest songs I’ve heard this year. Just when you’re enjoying it, it ends.

“We need a longer version because it’s too good.” Another fan, Rumbidzai Chikowore, echoed similar sentiments, saying the artist had left fans hungry for more. The song is beautiful and emotional. I played it several times because it finishes so quickly. Chillmaster should release an extended version.”

A third fan, Nigel Dube, said the brevity of the song was the only criticism he had.

“There’s nothing wrong with the song itself. The beat, vocals and message are all there.

“Our only complaint is that it feels incomplete because it’s too short.”

The overwhelming reaction has reached Chillmaster himself, who acknowledged the feedback and thanked fans for embracing the release. Speaking about the response, the singer said he was encouraged by the positive reception and assured supporters that more music was already on the way.

“I appreciate everyone who has been listening to Fighting for Love.  “I’ve seen the comments saying it’s too short, and honestly I’m grateful because it shows people wanted more. Don’t worry, there is plenty of music coming.  “I’ll be releasing more songs for the fans.”

He added that his focus remains on creating music that connects with people emotionally rather than simply chasing trends.

“Every song I put out carries a piece of my story and my heart.I’m happy people are connecting with this one, and I’m excited for them to hear what comes next.”

Music observers say shorter songs have become increasingly common in the streaming era, with many artists opting for concise tracks that encourage repeat plays. Even so, listeners often hope that standout songs receive extended versions or remixes after gaining popularity.

For Chillmaster, the reaction appears to be a positive challenge rather than criticism.

While fans may be disappointed that ‘Fighting for Love’ ends sooner than expected, their response suggests the singer has delivered a song that leaves listeners wanting more.
