ZIMBABWE’S aviation sector has reached another significant milestone with the recent arrival of the Fastjet Airbus A320-200 at Victoria Falls International Airport, marking another step in Government’s commitment to strengthening regional connectivity and driving economic growth.

The introduction of the Airbus A320-200, with a capacity of up to 168 passengers, will enhance Fastjet Zimbabwe’s operations through daily flights on the Harare–Johannesburg and Victoria Falls–Johannesburg routes, improving connectivity for business and leisure travellers while supporting tourism, trade and investment.

In a statement, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development said, “This milestone is a testament to the Second Republic’s commitment, under the leadership of His Excellency President Dr E.D. Mnangagwa, to developing a modern, efficient and integrated transport system that connects Zimbabwe to regional and global markets.

“As the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development, we remain committed to positioning aviation as a strategic enabler of economic transformation in line with Vision 2030. Enhanced air connectivity creates new opportunities for trade, tourism and investment, promotes regional integration, and strengthens Zimbabwe’s position as a preferred destination for business and leisure.”
