AWARD-WINNING Afro fusion artist, Feli Nandi, says the open verse challenges for the song “Vakaitwa Sewe” are bringing home the full heat.

The original song is based on a true story.

It features her friends Memory and Brian who lost their beloved son Tinaye Chibaya, an 11-year-old boy, whose tragic death touched the hearts of thousands of people last year.

Tinaye died due to head injuries, after he was dragged by a horse he was riding, during a family Easter holiday outing.

“Vakaita Sewe” is from her album “Ndisiyei” which was released earlier this year.

A few days ago, the diva announced she will be doing a remix of her song “Vakaita Sewe” after a successful challenge.

The emotional track was produced by Alicious.

In an interview with Zimpapers Entertainment Hub, Feli Nandi said she was excited by all the verses she has listened to.

“The open verse challengers for ‘Vakaita Sewe’ are bringing the full heat and the challenge will be closed on Friday.

“The world needs to hear these amazing talents. It will be a privilege and great honour to work with them.

“It’s that time again, open verse challenge top 5 get into the studio with me for a remix of the song.

“Just like we did with the ‘Mubayei’ open verse challenge, we will record and shoot a video for the remix with the Top 5 finalists. Video with the most reactions and engagement will get an added advantage.

“Five talented musicians ran away with the ‘Mubayei’ Challenge. It’s amazing to see them flourish and take over on the music scenes,” she said.

Recently, the ‘Mhute’ hit-maker shared the stage with a host of musicians from across the continent, including the iconic Ladysmith Black Mambazo, the five-time Grammy-winning ensemble, at the 18th edition of MTN Bushfire Festival in eSwatini.

Feli is also preparing for her intimate “A Night with Feli Nandi” show at the Hard Rock Café in Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa in August.

She will then jet off to Germany in October for another performance, this time at the Moto Moto Festival.

She is expected to share the stage with fellow Zimbabwean stars Mwenje Mathole, Mary Annibal, Mokoomba, and Awa Khiwe.
