AFRO-FUSION queen and fashion powerhouse, Feli Nandi, will be taking it nice and easy in the first quarter of the year.

She is turning her attention towards more writing and creativity.

Her manager, Connie Mazani, said the diva’s decision to slow down is aimed at strengthening her work.

Juggling music and fashion, through her African-themed clothing line ‘Vasikana Vemarokwe,’ and catering under the ‘KwaNandi’ brand, Mazani said the quieter schedule will allow Feli Nandi to focus on writing new music and developing new ideas.

“She will be slowing it down for the first quarter of the year to focus on more writing.

“This is so important for her so she can write more and really connect with her music.”

With a growing international tour presence, Feli has since emerged as one of the leading figures in Zimbabwe’s contemporary music scene.

The diva, who has not yet collaborated with an international musician, hinted towards that direction.

“When you work with other musicians, you learn from each other.

“It’s about helping one another improve our craft and pushing each other to be better.”

Feli Nandi recently released her first song for the year titled ‘Hamundinzwisise.’

“The song is an anthem for those who are misquoted, misunderstood and underestimated,” she said.

Fans have been reacting to the new song: “All your songs do relate to everything that happens in my life you know the exact words to whatever I am going through at a certain time. May God Bless You Feli Nandi,” said one fan.

“I always told you that somehow you always release music inoenderana nesituation yangu and last year yakapera ndichitadza kuteerera music yako because you released ‘Vakaita Sewe’ the same time I lost my brother in March and he loved your music and had ringtone yesong yako ‘Simba Iri.’ This year I want to resume listening to your music and coming back to your music shows as part of my healing, I know it’s going to be hard but I will try,” said another fan.

Last year, Feli Nandi released her second album, which was a testimony to the diva’s personal journey in the music industry.

The album featured songs like ‘Tongai,’ ‘Munamato,’ ‘Ndisiyei,’ ‘Ahungasiye,’ ‘Kukoromoka,‘ ‘Muranda,’ ‘Shwamwari,’ ‘Fambai Neni,’ and ‘Vakaita Sewe.’

It was a follow-up to her debut album ‘Inzwa.’

For the past three years, the ‘Mubayei,’ ‘Mufudzi Wangu’ and ‘Unotyei’ hit-maker became a regular fixture at big events, and has successfully staged nationwide tours.
