FIVE ARMED MEN INVADE SHRINE, STEAL FROM WORSHIPPERS

FIVE men, armed with machetes, invaded a shrine where six worshippers were praying along Arcturus Road in Mabvuku and stole their belongings.

There were four men and two women at the shrine.

The five armed men struck at around midnight.

They had face masks and ordered the worshippers to surrender all their belongings.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the case. “Police are investigating a robbery where six people lost their belongings while praying.

“One of the six reported the case and he lost a total of US$95,” said Insp Chakanza.

Meanwhile, Joyline Chaurura, 33, who runs a tuckshop, lost US$368 to six robbers who broke into her house. They were armed with a pick, a shovel and a machete.
