LEADING content creator and musician Frets Donzvo is celebrating a major milestone after his music video “Zarurai Nzira” surpassed 128,000 views on YouTube.
It reflects growing interest in his music and message.
According to the figures shown on his YouTube channel, the official video had reached 128,000 views and 11,000 likes by August 31, just days after it was unveiled on August 28.
The achievement has given Frets another reason to celebrate as he continues using music to share messages of faith, prayer and hope with his growing audience.
The video, which carries a prayerful theme, features Frets performing in a rocky outdoor setting, complementing the song’s spiritual message with striking natural scenery.
Speaking about the milestone, Frets said he was grateful for the response from his supporters.
“I am really grateful for everyone who has taken time to watch, like and share ‘Zarurai Nzira’,” Frets said. For me, this is more than just numbers. It shows that the message is reaching people, and that is what I always pray for when I release music,” he added.
Frets, who has built a sizeable following on YouTube with more than 127,000 subscribers, said the early response to the video has encouraged him to keep creating music that speaks to people’s everyday experiences.
“Seeing the song reach more than 128k views in such a short space of time is amazing,” he said.
“I do not take the support for granted. Every view, every like and every person who shares the song means a lot to me,” Frets said.
Fans have also joined in celebrating the achievement, with many praising the song’s spiritual message and the visuals accompanying it.
One fan described the song as “a powerful reminder to keep praying even when things seem impossible”, while another said the video had a “simple but meaningful message” that made the song easy to connect with.
Another fan, Tapiwa Mano said Frets deserved the recognition because “his music carries a message of hope and encourages people to keep believing.”
The milestone comes at a time when digital platforms have become increasingly important for Zimbabwean musicians seeking to reach audiences beyond traditional music channels.
For independent artists such as Frets, YouTube provides an opportunity to build communities around their music while allowing songs to reach listeners in Zimbabwe and beyond.
