BULAWAYO-BASED Afro House producer and DJ Afro Wav has joined Inner Visions, a Zimbabwean Afro House compilation curated by South Africa-based Zimbabwean producer Dr Feel.
Born Simbarashe Kodzai, Afro Wav joins 15 other DJs and producers on the project, which aims to showcase Zimbabwean Afro House to international audiences.
The compilation features a mix of local and international artistes, including DJ Stavo, Nitefreak, Dr Chaii, Ryan Synth, MIčI, Reverb, TAPIWA, Simbai, Tashinga, Shona (SA), PA NGU, Takue SBT,
Josh Major, Daphfinee and Taarof Adder.
Inner Visions seeks to highlight the diversity of Zimbabwean Afro House while exploring how music can carry identity, memory and experience across borders.
For Afro Wav, the project is an important step in putting Zimbabwean electronic music on the global map.
“Inner Visions is more than just a compilation. It is laying a foundation for the future of Afro
House, not just in Zimbabwe but in the rest of the world,” he said.
“It is a chance to shine a light on Zimbabwe, our rhythms and the different dance patterns embedded in our sound. It is a way of showcasing Zimbabwe to the world, along with who we are and what we can do.
“It is also paving the way for future generations, showing them that they can do it and that the world is big. Inner Visions is taking what we have been doing through collaborations with artists across Africa and the world and creating a foundation for the future.”
Dr Feel said he was pleased to have Afro Wav, whom he described as one of Zimbabwe’s most consistent Afro House producers, on the project.
“Afro Wav is one of the most consistent and dedicated producers to emerge from Zimbabwe’s Afro House scene. His sound is unmistakable and deeply rooted in our culture, yet endlessly innovative,” he said.
“I have watched his work ethic and commitment to the craft over the years, and it is an honour to have him as part of Inner Visions. He represents the very best of what Zimbabwean Afro House has to offer the world.”
The collaboration comes as Afro Wav enters an ambitious phase of his career with the release of his latest single, Chopisa, through Seres Produções.
He is also working on new releases through his label, ILE ORIN, with a full slate of projects planned for 2026.
His music has earned support from leading names in electronic music, including Black Coffee, who selected one of his tracks for a curated playlist. His work has also been championed by Shimza,
Boddhi Satva, DJ Satelite, Batida, Djeff and Hyenah, extending his reach from Africa to international dance floors.
