Fusion 5 Mangwiro, and celebrated jazz vocalist Prudence Katomeni-Mbofana, will be the main acts at the upcoming seminar on marriage and inheritance laws.
Dubbed the Marriage Act and Inheritance Laws: Myths and Facts, the seminar will be held at Celebration Centre from 15 to July 17.
All female group Breeze Music, will open the event with a joint performance on the opening night, while Katomeni-Mbofana will close the session with a live performance, supported by Breeze Music.
Beyond the musical acts, the seminar aims to clarify Zimbabwe’s evolving legal landscape regarding marriage and inheritance.
The event is a brainchild of Vastek Africa and seasoned legal practitioner and personality Nyaradzo ‘Advovo Wabantu’ Maphosa.
Maphosa is expected to offer practical, relatable insights tailored to everyday Zimbabweans.
She said the sessions are designed to provide clarity on pressing legal questions.
“For instance: Do ‘small houses’ now have legal rights? Can one claim damages for adultery?
“Has lobola been abolished? Who owns the house, stand, or car once married?
“Is it wise to register property in children’s names? Is a trust better than a will?
“And what exactly constitutes a civil partnership under the new Marriages Act?”
“This is a must attend event for couples, aspiring homeowners, legal enthusiasts and anyone looking to better understand their rights and responsibilities under Zimbabwe’s revised marital and inheritance laws.
Music will be there to soothe and entertain people,” added Maphosa.
Former model Brita Masalethulini will host the seminar.
