CHICKEN Inn media officer Brighton Ncube has revealed that the club is now done with its new technical team and is set to officially announce new player signings soon.
Ahead of the start of the 2026 season, the former Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) champions engaged in a massive recruitment drive, amid revelations that they have hired Lameck Makuvatsine as their new kit manager.
Makuvatsine replaces Guide Goddard, who was also doubling up as the club’s second assistant coach in the past season.
Goddard is now the head coach of the club’s developmental side and is assisted by his former team-mates Ben Nyaunzvi and Danny “Deco” Phiri.
“With the technical team, yes, we are done with announcements, but with regard to players, we are yet to announce,” said Ncube.

“We have announced all our technical team members who will be taking charge of the squad this season; some are former players, familiar faces as you have seen. Most are well-experienced individuals and we are certain this is going to be a different season.
“We will be announcing our new player signings soon.
“We urge the Gamecocks fans to rally behind the boys this season. Let’s make supporting Chicken Inn FC attractive,” added Ncube.
Two-time championship-winning coach Tonderai Ndiraya is now in charge of the Gamecocks’ first team.
He replaced veteran gaffer Joey Antipas, who had been with the former league champions for several years, winning the league championship in 2015.
In their technical department, the Simbisa Brands-sponsored outfit has also hired Naison Muchekela and Fortune “Fokoza” Ncube as first and second assistant coaches respectively.
Muchekela takes over from Philani Mabhena, while Ncube replaces Guide Goddard, who is now with the club’s developmental side as head coach.
The club also brought in former holding midfielder Tafadzwa Raphael Kutinyu as a performance analyst.
Zwanayi Kawadza is now the team’s goalkeepers’ coach.
He replaced Energy Murambadoro, who is now on the books of Simba Bhora together with Mabhena. – @FungaiMuderere
