GIRLFEST 2026 lived up to its billing as a celebration of women, music, fashion and entertainment.
Hundreds of ladies converged for a colourful day of entertainment in Harare of Saturday.
GirlFest offered a diverse entertainment package, featuring DJs and live performances from a number of Zimbabwean artists.
DJ Wale and Shaku Chante were among the performers who got the crowd going. Atenda Chinx and Samuel Cosmic also entertained revellers.
Takura also performed at the festival, alongside KingHer, SaintFleow, MadeHerBelieve and Enzo Ishall.
The packed venue reflected the strong interest in an event specifically centred on women, with ladies turning up in numbers to enjoy the performances, socialise and spend time with friends.
For the organisers, the response was beyond what they had anticipated.
“GirlFest 2026 has exceeded our expectations in ways that we could only have hoped for.
“The turnout was phenomenal, the energy was unmatched, and the response from the public has demonstrated that Zimbabwe is ready for an event of this magnitude,” the organisers said.
They said seeing hundreds of women coming together to celebrate music, fashion, creativity and entertainment had been a rewarding experience.
“As organisers, seeing hundreds of ladies come together in celebration of women, music, fashion, creativity and entertainment has been incredibly rewarding.
“We had ambitious projections but the sheer number of people who showed up and the energy they brought with them surpassed what we anticipated.”
The organisers said the support from the public, artists and partners has given them greater responsibility to grow the brand.
“GirlFest 2026 has set a new benchmark for us.
“We are proud of what we have achieved, grateful for the overwhelming support, and already looking ahead to making the next edition bigger, bolder and even more unforgettable.
“This is only the beginning.”
For Takura, who performed at GirlFest for the first time, the reception from the audience made the experience particularly memorable.
“It was my first time performing at GirlFest and it has been the best experience and the best feeling.
“I want to thank the organisers for giving me a stage at their event and I want to also thank the audience for their support,” he said.
The festival’s appeal extended beyond the performances, with the gathering providing ladies with an opportunity to celebrate, connect and enjoy themselves in a vibrant environment.
As more revellers continued arriving, the energy around the venue continued to soar, reinforcing the organisers’ belief that GirlFest has established a place within Zimbabwe’s entertainment landscape.
