Government is patching potholes along a section of Airport Road that leads to Manyame Airbase.

Ward 8 Hunyani Councillor, Mr Knowledge Mutapaire, said he approached the Department of Roads for the road section to be patched.

Cllr Mutapaire said the Department of Roads has been working on the road for almost a week and works are ongoing.

In other matters, Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Deputy Minister, Kiven Mutimbanyoka, is expected to meet residents of Retreat in Ward 8 on Tuesday to discuss issues affecting the community.

“That’s the area we visited with our team. Residents were given clearance by the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe (CAAZ) in 2023, so that is what we were trying to see since there are plans to construct a second runway at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport,” he said.

“There is an area that they cleared, so we wanted to see if the clearance is still valid, so we are still following up on the paperwork.”
