Government impressed by ZC preparations for ICC U-19 ODI World Cup

Government is impressed by Zimbabwe Cricket’s preparations for the upcoming ICC U-19 ODI World Cup, which the country will co-host with Namibia next month.

Speaking after touring two of the facilities that will be used to host the ICC U-19 World Cup, Harare Sports Club and Takashinga Sports Club in Highfield, the Minister of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Lt Gen (Rtd) Anselem Sanyatwe, said the Government is pleased with the preparations that have been undertaken by the local cricket motherbody, Zimbabwe Cricket.

“The Zimbabwe Cricket executive has invited me to witness the state of preparedness for hosting the ICC U-19 ODI World Cup.

“I am impressed with the readiness of ZC in hosting the upcoming event,” said Minister Sanyatwe.

Zimbabwe will host 25 matches, including the final, while Namibia is set to host 19 matches.
