GOVERNMENT has reaffirmed its commitment to equipping youths with digital tools and infrastructure to ensure they are not left behind in an increasingly connected and technology-driven world.

Speaking during the handover of internet connectivity equipment to junior parliamentarians in Manicaland on Monday, the Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Advocate Misheck Mugadza, said bridging the digital divide remains a top priority for the Government.

“The handover is a milestone in our ongoing efforts to ensure that no young Zimbabwean is left behind in the digital era.

“By equipping Junior MPs with these tools, we are opening doors for innovation, learning, and leadership across our communities,” Minr Mugadza said.

He added:

“By empowering you with access to reliable internet connectivity, the Government is investing in a generation that is innovative, informed and capable of contributing meaningfully to national development.

“This initiative is aligned with the aspirations of our National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2), which provides a clear and coordinated roadmap to unlock the potential of our young people as drivers of sustainable national development.

“Furthermore, this initiative directly supports His Excellency’s Vision 2030, which seeks to transform Zimbabwe into an upper middle-income economy by the year 2030, with our young people taking centre-stage in driving productivity and techno-savvy innovations,” he said.
