COMEDIAN Blessing “Mbudziyadhura” Chimhowa has teamed up with Taurai “Gringo” Boora for a new project which they hope will penetrate the international market.
The dynamic duo, known for their quick wit and sharp humour, are set to bring their unique brand of comedy to the big screen.
In an interview with Zimpapers Entertainment Hub, Mbudziyadhura said the drama promises to be a heartwarming and hilarious ride, with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments and touching scenes of vulnerability and growth.
Mbudziyadhura, known for his one-liners, and Gringo, with his sarcastic charm, are drawing from their own experiences to craft a story that’s both relatable and entertaining.
“We’re having a blast working on this project.
“We’re pushing each other to be funnier and more creative with every line. We still have not put a title to the movie.
“The target audience has been the late Gringo’s audience and we are also trying to broaden our audience in the sense that we are going to be putting subtitles to our movie so that anyone can actually watch and understand what’s going on.
“We are also aiming to penetrate the international market.”
Mbudziyadhura, who also doubles as a master of ceremonies at weddings and parties, said people are now accepting the son of late Gringo for who he is.
“The reception has been, what I can say, exceptional. People are beginning to now take a Gringo and understand him for who he is.
“He’s not the original Gringo but is the best thing that can come out of Gringo.
“When we talk of Gringo, we’re looking at his facial features, his voice and stuff like that so people have been receiving him well and we are grateful for the support that we’ve been getting.
“When we are doing something, when we are shooting a movie or drama or a skit, we try and do our best to beat the previous levels. But as you know, people have their own taste.
“If we don’t beat the previous levels, we won’t be able to make it to the next level. We are thankful to the people who have been supporting us through thick and thin,” he said.
