Vintage enthusiasts and cultural aficionados will converge on Gwanda this Saturday for a nostalgic celebration of fashion and memorabilia.

Branded “The Vintage Parade”, the event has previously been held in the City of Kings and Queens, organised through a collaboration of Bulawayo’s Western Khazins, Vintage Movement and Makhokhoba Vintage Movement, Plumtree’s Vintage Nation, and Gwanda’s Cotton Eaters.
The parade will kick off at the NSSA complex in the central business district and conclude at Mkhekhelezi Leisure Centre.

Father K of Western Khazins, one of the event organisers, said the parade aims to celebrate the culture and style of the 1960s through the 1990s.
“As the Vintage Culture Association, we’re excited to showcase our unique brand of vintage flair in Gwanda for the first time. With local members eager to display their vintage style, the event promises to be an engaging celebration of culture and heritage,” he said.
“Through vintage fashion parades and other activities, we aim to educate and inspire the younger generation about the importance of preserving and appreciating their cultural roots.” – Follow on X: @mthabisi_mthire
