Harare man caged 10 years for possession of TelOne cables

A 24-YEAR-OLD man from Hatcliffe was arrested and appeared in court for allegedly possessing 2kg of TelOne cables.
The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) in a statement on X, said “Admire Musurudzwa appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Court on charges of contravening the Postal and Telecommunications Act i.e. possession of any telecommunication infrastructural material belonging to or used by a telecommunication licensee.
“On the 10th of August 2024 at 0300 hours the accused person was seen holding a white sack by a security officer in Belvedere. The security officer stopped the accused person and asked him what he was carrying in the sack. The accused person tried to flee the scene but was apprehended by the security officer. A search was conducted leading to the recovery of 2kg of TelOne cables. The accused person was arrested.”
He admitted to the charges and received a 10-year prison sentence, said the NPAZ
