A 28-YEAR-OLD suspect has been arrested on allegations of cutting the throat of his friend with a kitchen knife before sucking his blood in Harare.
After killing his friend, the suspect reportedly buried the body in a shallow grave at Warren Hills Cemetery in Warren Park D.
The suspect has been identified as Shepherd Severa (28), who is accused of killing Brian Nandana (age not given).
His arrest comes after the recovery of a blood-stained Toyota Aqua vehicle (AGO 2804) at the cemetery.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident and the arrest.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirm the arrest of Shepherd Severa, aged 28, in connection with a case of murder which occurred in Warren Park D, Harare, in which Brian Nandana was killed,” he said.
“The arrest follows the recovery of a blood-stained Toyota Aqua vehicle, registration number AGO 2804, at Warren Hills Cemetery, Harare, on May 19, 2026, at around 4 am.
“Subsequent police investigations led to the arrest of the suspect, who confessed to killing his friend, Brian Nandana, by cutting his throat with a kitchen knife before sucking his blood.
“The suspect led the police to a shallow grave at Warren Hills Cemetery, where the victim’s body was retrieved with a deep cut on the neck and a scar on the back of the head. Investigations into the full circumstances surrounding the murder case are in progress. More details will be released in due course,” he said.
