Harare Metropolitan Province Disaster Risk Reduction and Management plan to be reviewed

A workshop to review the Harare Metropolitan Province Disaster Risk Reduction and Management plan is expected to be held in Mutare next month.
Epworth Local Board town secretary, Dr Wilton Mhanda, announced this at an Epworth full board meeting today at Epworth Local Board.

Dr Mhanda read out a letter from the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works during the full board meeting.
The letter read “Pursuant to the Civil Protection Act Chapter 10 of 2006, which mandates the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works to chair the civil protection committee at national and provincial tiers of Government, the office is requesting for funding towards conferencing payments for a workshop scheduled at Golden Peacock in Mutare.

“The workshop will commence on the 8th to the 11th of June. An enquiry on the quotation from Golden Peacock was done by the office.”
Representing the District Development Coordinator, office admin, Ms Shumirai Maungana told the full board meeting that a plan for the province is expected to be reviewed at the workshop.
