THE installation of prepaid water meters by the City of Harare in partnership with Helcraw Water is ongoing across Harare.

In a statement, acting City of Harare town clerk, Engineer Phakamile Mabhena Moyo, urged residents to cooperate with the installation teams during this period to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.

“Your support will help enhance water management, improve billing accuracy and promote sustainable water use in our community,” he said.

“Residents are kindly requested to cooperate and grant access to installation teams upon proper identification. Installers will carry official IDs and wear blue work suits labelled Helcraw Water.”

Eng Moyo urged residents who can to replace old galvanised underground water pipes with PVC pipes from the meter to the house to minimise leaks and improve efficiency.

He said prepaid water meter top-up tokens are available at Rowan Martin building, Cabs centre (CBD), Mabelreign district office, Warren Park district office and Warren Park district sub-office.

Eng Moyo said the online top-up purchasing system for smart water meter tokens is almost complete.
