A FIERY family feud in Mbizo has landed a 23-year-old Kwekwe man in serious trouble after he head-butted his stepfather into a swollen-eyed mess during a domestic bust up.

According to a statement from the National Prosecuting Authority of ZIMBABWE (NPAZ), the Kwekwe Magistrates Court did not hesitate to punish the hot-headed offender.

“The Kwekwe Magistrates Court has convicted a 23-year-old man from Mbizo, Kwekwe for assaulting his stepfather in a domestic violence incident,” the NPAZ said.

The court sentenced him to five months imprisonment, but offered a lifeline.

“The offender was sentenced to five months imprisonment, of which two months were suspended on condition of good behaviour, the remainder was suspended on condition that he performs 105 hours of community service,” the bulletin added.

The chaos erupted on 28 November around 5:30PM at the family home where tempers flared over a disagreement.

“During the incident, the offender head-butted the victim multiple times, causing a swollen eye,” the NPAZ revealed.

The prosecution authority used the case to underline its anti-violence message.

“The NPAZ reiterates its call to members of the public to avoid acts of violence. Communities are urged to live in harmony and seek third party mediation in case of disputes.”
