The Health Service Commission (HSC) is seeking to strengthen communication, stakeholder engagement and public trust as it moves to improve institutional performance and support the transformation of Zimbabwe’s public health sector.

Speaking during the opening of the commission’s communication strategy review and policy development workshop in Kadoma, HSC Secretary Dr Christopher Pasi, said effective communication was critical to ensure that the Commission clearly articulated its mandate and demonstrated its contribution to the health system.

He said the strategy development process was not merely a routine review of documents, but a strategic intervention aimed at strengthening the commission’s capacity to engage stakeholders and improve public confidence.

“Communication is no longer just an administrative accessory. It is a strategic management function that supports good governance, institutional performance and public confidence,” said Dr Pasi.

He added that clear communication was essential to ensuring that health policies were understood by those responsible for implementing them, enabling the health service to translate policy into action.

The initiative comes as Government intensifies efforts to improve public service delivery, strengthen accountability and accelerate national development in line with Vision 2030.
