ZIMBABWEAN karting has received a major boost with the announcement that WORR Motorsport of South Africa has partnered with Pole Position Karts to offer one local kart racer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
It’s a fully funded MSA4 Formula Car testing day in South Africa.
The initiative represents more than just a day behind the wheel of a formula car.
It is designed to provide an aspiring driver with invaluable experience at the next level of the motorsport ladder, while offering first-hand insight into the operations of a professional racing team.
The successful driver will also showcase Zimbabwean talent on a regional stage, potentially opening doors to future opportunities in single-seater racing.
The partnership cements Pole Position Karts’ commitment to growing grassroots motorsport in Zimbabwe.
Over recent years, they have played a pivotal role in making karting more accessible through its popular public rental karts at worldclass venues in Eastlea and at the National Sports Stadium in Harare, while developing the country’s next generation of racing talent through the competitive Kart Sport Club championships and the regionally recognised Rotax Challenge
Pole Position Karts Director, Zac Dufty, believes the opportunity could be transformational for a young Zimbabwean driver.
“This is a life-changing opportunity for one of our Kart Sport Club Rotax competitors,” said Dufty. “For many young racers, getting behind the wheel of a formula car is a dream that can seem out of reach. Through our partnership with WORR Motorsport, we’re able to give one driver the chance to experience professional single-seater racing, learn from an experienced team, and see what it takes to progress in the sport. This is exactly the kind of pathway we want to create for grassroots motorsport.”
The initiative reflects a shared vision between WORR Motorsport and Pole Position Karts to strengthen the motorsport development pathway for young drivers, bridging the gap between karting and formula racing. It also highlights the growing reputation of Zimbabwe’s karting scene, which continues to produce talented competitors capable of competing on the regional stage.
As competitive karting at Pole Position Karts continues to grow in both participation and competitiveness, opportunities like this demonstrate that success in the country’s premier karting championships can lead to genuine career progression.
For one lucky driver, this partnership could mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter—and the first step towards a future in professional motorsport.
This isn’t just a test day – it’s a chance to experience the next step on the motorsport ladder, gain valuable knowledge from a professional racing team and showcase Zimbabwean talent on an international stage.
