At the height of his performance at the Hunters Big Refresh Party at Glamis Arena on Saturday night, dancehall sensation Hulengende pressed pause on the music and gave the thousands gathered a glimpse into the man behind his rise to stardom.
The man of the moment had a special guest to introduce – his father, Madzibaba Eddy, whom he credits for prophesying his success when he was still young.
But it was not just the introduction that got people talking.
Madzibaba Eddy arrived on stage dressed in youthful fashion, sporting the kind of trendy look that has become synonymous with his famous son.
For a moment, it was almost as if the crowd was looking at two versions of Hulengende!
The striking father-and-son appearance sent the audience into a frenzy, with revellers erupting into cheers as the two embraced.
Malloti also joined in the heartwarming moment, sharing an embrace with Madzibaba Eddy and Hulengende on stage.

“Today my father came to see the legend performing. His name is Madzibaba Eddy. He is the man behind my success. I respect you my father, you prophesied this my father,” he said.
It was a touching tribute from an artiste whose star has been rising rapidly on Zimbabwe’s dancehall scene.
