Hwange, Aqua Stars and Jordan advance in Munhumutapa Challenge Cup

The excitement surrounding the inaugural Munhumutapa Challenge Cup continued to grow on Wednesday as three Southern Region Soccer League teams booked their places in the next stage of the competition following hard-fought Round Three victories.
All three matches played on Wednesday ended with similar 1-0 scorelines. Hwange edged Megawatt while Jordan beat Nkayi United. Aqua Stars lost to Imbizo
Launched earlier this year by Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa, the tournament has quickly captured the imagination of football followers across the country.
Backed by a US$25 million investment over five years, the competition offers life-changing rewards for clubs at every level of Zimbabwean football. The men’s champions are set to receive US$1 million, while the women’s winners will walk away with US$200 000.
