HWANGE Local Board Town Secretary, Mr Ndumiso Mdlalose, recently conducted an extensive inspection tour of all outstanding Council projects scheduled for completion in 2026.
The tour formed part of the Local Board’s ongoing commitment to monitoring project implementation, ensuring accountability, and delivering quality infrastructure and services to residents.
The inspection provided an opportunity for the Town Secretary to assess the progress made on various projects, evaluate compliance with project timelines, and identify any challenges that may be hindering implementation. During interactions with management and project teams on site, Mr Mdlalose stressed the importance of maintaining momentum and addressing bottlenecks promptly to ensure that all projects are completed on schedule.
He urged officials and contractors involved in the projects to uphold the highest standards of workmanship and efficiency, noting that residents are looking forward to benefiting from the completed developments. He highlighted that infrastructure and service delivery projects play a vital role in improving living standards, enhancing access to essential services, and creating an enabling environment for investment and economic growth.
Mr Mdlalose said successful completion of the projects will not only benefit the people of Hwange but will also contribute significantly towards the achievement of Zimbabwe’s national development aspirations under Vision 2030. He noted that the Government’s vision of attaining upper-middle-income economy status is anchored on the provision of modern infrastructure, efficient public services, and sustainable socio-economic development at local level.
“The timely delivery of these projects is critical in ensuring that residents receive the services they deserve while also positioning Hwange as a key contributor to national development. Every project completed represents progress towards improving livelihoods and building a prosperous future for our communities,” he said.
The Town Secretary reaffirmed Hwange Local Board’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and effective project management, adding that regular monitoring visits will continue to be conducted to ensure targets are met and resources are utilized efficiently.
