DEPUTY Minister of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services Dingumuzi Phuti today toured the Masendu Community Information Centre (CIC) in Bulilima district, Matabeleland South province.

The visit is on the backdrop of rebranding of the CIC’s to become Digital Centres.

Deputy Minister Phuti was accompanied by Bulawayo Zimpost Postal Manager Mr Matthew Magagula who is expected to take over as the Matabeleland Zimpost Regional Administrator.

Deputy Minister Phuti said the Digital Centres are envisioned as vibrant hubs of digitalisation, empowerment and innovation, rather than mere access points.

“By bridging the digital divide, the Digital Centres will seamlessly connect Zimbabweans to global opportunities, empower our youth with modern tools and foster inclusive participation of rural communities in the digital economy.

“This is all envisioned in President Mnangagwa’s vision of leaving no one and no place behind,” said Deputy Minister Phuti.
