DEPUTY Minister of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services Cde Dingumuzi Phuti on Monday toured the Mayetshe Primary and Mayetshe Secondary School computer laboratories.

The computer laboratories were built by the Rural Infrastructure Development Agency (RIDA) as part of legacy projects in Matabeleland South province.

Speaking after the tour, Deputy Minister Phuti said progress is going well with the computer laboratories to be equipped with necessary ICT equipment by the Ministry and the telecommunications regulator, Potraz.

“President Mnangagwa is as per norm expected to officially open the computer laboratory on April 17, the day of the children’s party.

“Matobo district will never be the same again. Apart from ICT sector related developments, it seems like Maphisa has been built from scratch to the civilization of the century. The two state of the art and fully equipped computer laboratories for Mayetshe Primary and Scondary Schools will bridge the digital divide,” said Deputy Minister Phuti.
