ARTISTES from Victoria Falls are coming together to shine a spotlight on their city through the inaugural Worship Experience, set for May 24, at Zaoga Church.
The event, spearheaded by gospel musician Shylet Kunaka, promises to be a spirit-filled gathering that will showcase home-grown talent and unify worshippers across denominations. The event’s theme, “unity in worship,” is already resonating deeply within the local creative community.
The line-up includes Victoria Falls-based musicians Ignite Maghetsi, Matsa, Emmanuel, Hebron, Elengos Khuli, Blessing Dube and host, Shylet Kunaka. They will be joined by Blessing Jeduthun, a Zimbabwean gospel act based in South Africa and Eli Mambo from Harare, ensuring a rich blend of sounds and spiritual encounters.
The Worship Experience will also feature the live DVD recording of Shylet Kunaka’s popular singles Anovhura Pakavharwa and Samatenga, a milestone moment for the singer, who began her music journey in 2008 and has steadily grown her brand as a powerful voice in gospel music.
“This all comes from the Holy Spirit. In 2020, God gave me the vision of creating a place of worship that brings together people from all denominations, not just congregants, but pastors too. This has always been in my heart, but I didn’t know how to bring it to life,” said Kunaka.
She said that the idea came into sharper focus during her Christmas Worship Night hosted at Cresta Sprayview in December 2024, which she described as a spiritual and logistical breakthrough.
“At the beginning of December last year, God instructed me to host a Christmas Worship Night at Cresta, and it was a success. That experience gave me clarity on the direction to take and who to work with, and truly, God made it happen,” she said.
Kunaka’s journey has taken her from jazz stages, working with bands like Mandebvu, Chicken Bus and Kweseka, to television talent shows such as StarBrite (Top 10, 2022) and DreamStar (finalist, 2016). She also toured with the Jacaranda Festival Arts troupe, performing internationally. While she once served as a backing vocalist for Jah Prayzah, Kunaka chose to step away and follow her spiritual calling into ministry. Today, she ministers across Zimbabwe and Africa, using music as a tool for healing and transformation.
She said the grace of God has allowed her to minister across Africa and beyond.
“Coming from a small town like Victoria Falls, I feel it’s important to give local worshippers a platform I never had. It’s time to show our community that we have great talent and that music can be a viable path if we support each other.”
To her, the forthcoming Worship Experience is not just a concert; it is a declaration that Victoria Falls’ gospel scene is alive, talented and ready to soar.
“People should gear up for an amazing time in the presence of the Lord. They should expect powerful music, genuine worship and a mighty move of God. I honestly believe this experience will be life-changing for everyone, including us on the line-up.”— @mthabisi_mthire
