BEAUTY queen Lyshanda Moyas is lighting up Thailand and, with the Miss Universe finale just days away, she’s displaying confidence, charm and a whole lot of authenticity.
But while the world is busy admiring her beauty and calm presence, Lyshanda has dropped three surprising fun facts about her Thai stay and fans are gobbling it up.
First, she has become completely obsessed with Thai culture.
Whether it’s the traditional greetings, temple etiquette or food markets that buzz late into the night, Lyshanda has fallen head-first into the cultural mix.
“I have fallen in love with learning different cultures and traditions here.
“Thailand is truly a melting pot of beautiful people and customs.”
Sources at the Miss Universe Village say she is one of the contestants most eager to learn from locals, often seen chatting with staff, tour guides and volunteers. Fun fact number two is the one that shocked fans the most.
Lyshanda, born and raised under Zimbabwe’s sun, is now sipping hot tea in Bangkok’s blazing heat.
“I’ve surprisingly acquired a taste for drinking hot tea even in this hot weather,” she said.
“At first it felt impossible, but now it has become part of my daily routine.”
Contestants who share meals with her say she’s the first to request a steaming cup of tea, even when others are melting under the Thai humidity.
Her third fun fact is one that has won the hearts of supporters everywhere.
Lyshanda says being in Thailand has unlocked something deeper inside her—a bigger, bolder version of herself.
“I’ve discovered that immersing myself fully in a new environment actually brings out the most confident and grounded version of me,” she said.
“It’s something I’ll forever carry with me on and off the Miss Universe stage.”
Insiders say this newly-found confidence is one of the reasons many pageant watchers now rank her among the dark horses who could cause a major upset. With the finale set for Friday, Lyshanda says she is fully in game mode.
Rehearsals have intensified, the pressure is rising and the world is watching.
But she remains calm and laser-focused.
“This is the final stretch,” she said.
“It’s the moment to focus, deliver, and honour the expectations of everyone back home.”
She revealed that she’s been reviewing feedback from fans and critics, polishing everything from her walk to her stage energy.
“Trust me, we are applying everything,” she said.
And of course, she hasn’t forgotten the people cheering her on from Zimbabwe and across the diaspora.
“Your support means everything,” she said.
