THE Jacaranda Music Festival gets underway in earnest today with the holding of a two-day music business conference.
The manager of the event, Tariro neGitare, said the Jacaranda Music Festival aims to promote cultural diversity.
The music festival is set to start on Friday and ends on Saturday at Thorn Park Polo Grounds.The line-up of performing acts is a mixture of upcoming and established local and international artists.
Headlining acts include South African Afro-pop giants Mafikizolo, Murumba Pitch and Vusi Nova.
Local performers confirmed so far include Agga Nyabinde, DJ Ace, and DJ Spunj.
Other notable acts are ExQ, Oskido, The Soil and Enzo Ishall.
In an interview, Tariro neGitare said:
“We’re finalising preparations, ensuring everything is perfect for our attendees. Artists and guests have started arriving.
“Our festival aims to promote cultural diversity showcasing Zimbabwean and international music, arts and culture. We also aim to support emerging artists , providing a platform for new talent to shine alongside established acts. We also aim to drive economic growth contributing to Zimbabwe’s creative economy and local businesses,” she said.
She said the festival prioritises the safety of guests.
“On site security teams will ensure a safe environment. Strict entry and exit procedures will be in place.
“Medical teams from Trauma Centre Borrowdale and emergency responders will be on standby.
“We advise attendees to plan ahead, considering the festival’s impact on local traffic. Parking options will be available, and we encourage carpooling and ride-sharing.
“Thorn Park Polo Grounds is easily accessible and we’ll have clear signage and staff to guide attendees.”
