MUSICIAN Jaycee Rappadict famously known for the Ungayithi Vuu hit track is hoping that he makes proud the community of Insiza District by winning a Bulawayo Arts Awards (BAA) gong.

The artiste has two nominations under the Outstanding Kwaito/House/Gqom category where also up for the top prize is La Dee, MJ Sings and Calvin Mangena.

He has another nomination in the Outstanding Song of The Year for the track Ungayithi Vuu which arguably propelled him to fame.

Jaycee Rappadict said the nomination is a a dream come true.

“This is my first Zimbabwean nomination which feels like a dream come true as l have always wanted to be part of this big thing. The nomination is a big thing not just for me but to the whole Insiza District as they have always watched these awards from afar,” said Jaycee Rappadict.

He said the nomination, proves that one’s background doesn’t necessarily reflect on their future.

“I feel that l have been given my best chance to shine and my work has been finally recognised which to me is an achievement that took time but it was worth the wait. I think my work gives hope especially from other artistes who come from the villages in search of success, it gives hope. This means it’s possible for anyone to achieve if you believe.

“If l had to win this award, l would take it as a huge achievement for all the kids growing to see that there is life in using your talent. Usually others give up because of trying for too long and not being recognised but this will be a symbol of hope to the ones who are pushing to make it,” said Jaycee Rappadict.
