JEALOUS MAN THREATENS TO KILL GIRLFRIEND!

A BULAWAYO man who thought jealousy was an endearing personality trait instead of a red flag got a rude awakening after a courtroom reality check left him US$110 poorer.

William Ncube (34) of Mbundane suburb, sauntered into Western Commonage Magistrates Court and pleaded guilty to threatening to kill his girlfriend over suspected cheating. Instead of becoming the neighbourhood action hero he imagined, he walked out as the latest cautionary tale in the B-Metro Book of Bad Boyfriends.

Magistrate Jeconia Prince Ncube didn’t waste time and slapped him with a US$110 fine. If he fails to pay by 9 January, 2026, the magistrate has reserved a cosy 30-day prison vacation just for him.

Prosecutor Tafara Dzimbanhete told the court that the meltdown occurred on 7 December at Ncube’s place where he was hanging out with his girlfriend, Precious Ndlovu (33). Instead of romance, Precious got an unexpected drama scene after Ncube accused her of infidelity then allegedly barked the chilling words Ngizakubulala, which means I will kill you.

Precious, realising she was dating a man who confuses relationships with horror movies, wasted no time and reported the matter to the police. That single move turned Ncube’s tough talk into a court record and a fine that could have bought them both a sumptuous festive season dinner, by candle light.

Instead, he learned an expensive lesson that threats are not love languages.
