RENOWNED gospel group Joyfull Praise Choir and celebrated Zora music legend Leonard Zhakata are set to headline an all-night crusade this Friday at Chibuku Stadium in Chitungwiza.
The event, hosted by the United Family International Church (UFIC) Seke Central Branch, will feature several other performers who will minister to the audience through music and dance. In an interview, Joyful Praise Choir leader Pastor Gamaliel Blessing Madindi, said:
“We are expecting to see and experience a great move by God at this all-night crusade. Our mandate is to minister to the people’s souls through music, and we are fully prepared to deliver on that,” he said.
Pastor Madindi said the choir’s mission was to inspire young people to find joy and purpose in serving God.
“We are living in times where many young people are wasting themselves on drugs and engaging in risky behaviour. Our desire is to lead by example and show that there is a better life, filled with joy and happiness, in the Kingdom of God. We want to win more souls for Christ,” he said.
Leonard Zhakata, known for his timeless hit “Mugove”, said:
“I believe people’s hearts and souls will be touched as I perform different songs from my playlist. I encourage everyone to come in their numbers and experience the best of music in the house of God,” said Zhakata.
Other performers set to grace the stage include Psalmist Hubert Chigumira and the UFIC Choir.
Pastor John Lymon, the event organiser and Seke Central zonal leader, said:
“The long wait is over and I’m glad to announce that everything is now in place for the programme to kick off,” he said.
It will run under the theme “Let My People Go.”
