JP SILENCES PROPHETS OF DOOM

JAH Prayzah opened his World Tour with an epic three-and-half hour show in Wolverhampton, England, on Saturday night.

As fate might have it, the superstar chose the home of Warriors star, Marshall Munetsi, to open his World Tour.

Munetsi plays for Wolverhampton Wanderers in the English Premier League.

It’s an ambitious project by Jah Prayzah as the World Tour will take him to the United States, Australia, South Africa before concluding at home in November.

The first impression is always the most important.

It sets the tone for other events which will follow.

JP and his team knew that this was a big gamble and if the Wolverhampton tour failed then chances of the rest of the World Tour failing were also high.

England was also a risky place for them to get the train moving.

After all, the last time JP was in England for a show, he left a disappointed man.

He had planned to perform for two hours but barely got thirty minutes on stage.

This time, Jah decided to take matters into his own hands.

He waited two years, ensuring everything was meticulously planned before staging a show on his own terms.

And, he told his fans in Wolverhampton that he was giving them two shows at once, to make up for the disappointment from his last appearance in England.

More than 3,000 fans thronged the venue and with the cheapest ticket going for £74, it’s clear that JP and his team enjoyed a good return on investment.

JP has a lot of critics and most of them have taken a political angle.

Some of them don’t like his association with businessman Wicknell Chivayo, who has showered him with expensive gifts in the last few years, including a US$150,000 cash injection to spend as he wishes.

Recently, we saw some social media hawks trying to make sure that JP’s shows in Dallas, as part of this World Tour, would not go ahead as planned.

They claimed that they were organising demonstrations and the organisers of the Dallas leg of the tour had decided to cancel it to ensure that his name would not be dragged into controversy.

These social media hawks wanted to set the stage for others, including those in England, to boycott JP’s shows.

You will be surprised to note that many of those hawks are not even based in the United States and would have been leading the campaign from their phones in Harare or even in Johannesburg.

The whole mission was to project JP as a tainted brand.

But, the good thing about Zimbabweans is that they are not easily fooled by people who carry their own eveil agendas.

That is why JP got a huge backing in England.

For us, that is more important than anything else.

It silenced these prophets of doom.

It gave JP and his team fresh energy to look forward for the rest of their World Tour with enthusiasm.
