JSC MOURNS HIGH COURT SHERIFF MADEGA

THE Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has mourned the death of High Court Sheriff Macduff Madega, who died on Thursday last week.

He had served the Judiciary for 41 years.

Madega was buried on Sunday at Glen Forest Memorial Park in Harare.

In a statement, the JSC described Madega as a dedicated public servant whose lengthy career contributed to the administration of justice and the effective functioning of the courts.“The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) announces with a deep sense of sadness the passing of Mr Macduff Madega, the Sheriff of the High Court, who passed away on Thursday, 20 August 2026,” reads the statement in part.

The JSC said Madega served the Judiciary with dedication and commitment to duty, making valuable contributions during his 41 years of service.

“Through his service as the Sheriff of the High Court, he made valuable contributions to the administration of justice in general and the effective functioning of the courts in particular,” reads the statement.

The Commission extended its condolences to Madega’s family, relatives, colleagues and all those who worked with him and were touched by his service.

“The Judicial Service Commission extends its deepest condolences to Mr Madega’s family, relatives, colleagues and all those who worked with him and were touched by his service,” reads the statement.

The JSC said it stood in solidarity with the bereaved family and joined the nation in mourning the loss of a dedicated member of the Judicial Service.

“At this difficult time, the Commission stands in solidarity with the bereaved family and joins the nation in mourning the loss of a dedicated member of the Judicial Service,” read the statement.

“May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
