A long distance bus operated by Green Horse Bus Services lost control and landed on its side, injuring several passengers on Sunday afternoon.

No reports of fatalities have been received by Zimpapers from a source on the ground along the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road.

A member of the public told this publication that he was driving along the busy highway near the Mbembesi Bridge after Insiza when he saw the accident.

“The bus is lying on its side just before Mbembesi Bridge on the way to the Phulula area along the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road. A number of passengers are injured but from what we can see at the crash site, no one has died. The bus was headed to St Paul’s in Lupane,” said the Zimpapers source.

Photos from the crash site suggest that the accident occurred on a detour along the highway that is undergoing massive rehabilitation by several contractors.
