KAROI Town Council has begun major road rehabilitation under the Emergency Road Rehabilitation Programme Phase Two to improve safety and service delivery.

The programme is being implemented in partnership with Shenkel Construction Company and targets roads damaged by heavy traffic and adverse weather.

Karoi Town secretary, Mr Tongai Mandude, said they were targeting key roads such as Chikangwe Road, Chikangwe Bus Terminus, Valley Road, Mupfuti Road, Sharp Street and Bougainvillaea Street.

Additional projects, he said, include the construction of a 0.7km stretch of GMB Road by Earthlygate and two kilometres of road in the Kubatana area by Goodhope.

The initiative, he said, will ensure safer and pothole-free roads.

“Council, through ERRP2, has partnered with Shenkel Construction Company to improve the condition of our roads and make them safe and trafficable,” he said.

Several roads, including Crescent Lane, Lakeview Lane and Church Lane, have already been resurfaced.
