THE townships have spoken, and now the real stars of eKasi are ready to shine in a no-holds-barred talent showdown at the Bulawayo Amphitheatre!

From the dusty streets of Mpopoma to the vibey corners of Pumula, Bulawayo Kasi to Kasi Talent Search has been digging deep for gold and boy, did they strike a motherlode!

The city’s most gifted youngsters will clash in a final battle of rhythm, rhyme, and raw passion on May 31, turning the iconic Amphitheatre into a cauldron of kasi creativity.

Launched in 2024 by Dab Three Events in partnership with the City of Bulawayo, the grassroots talent hunt has been the lifeline aspiring artistes have been begging for — finally giving them a stage without borders, politics, or price tags.

“This is more than just a talent show. It’s about empowering our youth and giving them a spotlight where the mainstream never looked,” said Archford Hadebe, Dab Three Events’ firebrand marketing director.

From Inyathi Youth Centre in Mpopoma to Cowdray Park and Mzilikazi, the auditions uncovered electrifying talent in music, dance, poetry, theatre, and drama, with performers aged 18 to 35 proving that the ghetto is a goldmine of potential.

Judged by a panel of seasoned local creatives, the finalists are set to go head-to-head in a heart-pounding performance marathon. The top dog will be the one with stage presence, originality, and enough fire to light up the whole city.

“This collaboration is about opening doors,” said the City of Bulawayo in a statement. “It’s township talent going mainstream — and we’re here for it!”

Showtime is 10AM sharp on May 31 as part of the Bulawayo Arts Festival (BAF) Extra, and the buzz is already deafening. For many of these youngsters, it’s a shot at greatness.
