THE Katonha twins – Tendai Katonha and Farai Katonha – are celebrating after being ordained as Conveyancers and Notary Publics.
The twins were ordained in Harare yesterday by High Court Judge, Justice Pisirai Kwenda.
Tendai Katonha said:
“Stepping into the legal profession as a newly-admitted Conveyancer is both humbling and exhilarating.
“After years of intense study, articles, practical training and the rigorous conveyancing examination, to finally be able to put my signature to deeds and documents that transfer real rights in property is a profound responsibility.
“I felt a mixture of pride, gratitude and healthy nervousness.
“Not forgetting that conveyancing is regarded as one of the most specialised and respected branches of law in Zimbabwe.
“Not every lawyer achieves it. It requires precision, patience and integrity.”
He added:
“I understand what is at stake. A title deed is not just paper — it is someone’s home, someone’s inheritance, someone’s investment and life savings.
“One error can delay a dream or cause a financial loss.
“Law is dynamic. Property law, Deeds Registry practice, local authority regulations and financial institution requirements are constantly evolving.
“I expect to learn from senior conveyancers, from the Registry officials, and from every file I will handle.
“I am not coming into this profession empty-handed. This is what I intend to bring:” said Tendai.
Farai echoed his brother’s sentiments, describing the admission as the start of a long-term commitment to professional service.
“Being a new Conveyancer is not the end of the journey — it is the beginning of a greater responsibility.
“I am here to serve, to learn, to protect property rights, and to add value to the noble legal profession in Zimbabwe.
“I look forward to not just registering properties but to building trust, one title deed at a time.” he said.
The twins’ ordination comes with recognition of the demanding nature of conveyancing practice, particularly the critical role played in property transfers, documentation, registry compliance, and safeguarding the rights of clients.
